Anna Lane’s adventures continue in this story when she travels back in time to help a boy who has lost his parents to the black plague. But Anna’s help is cut short when she wakes suddenly to find that she has lost her magical black cat bone, the small piece of wood that allows her to travel. Unable to reach Mama Do-Right, her guide from the afterworld, Anna asks her best friend Alex to help her reach the boy.
